Two years later details from the photographs were enlarged to match the format of the painting’s 10 parts (30 x 80 cm = 11,80 x 31,50 inch). Eight persons (instead of 10 as originally intended) then carried them through New York, a city quite unlike Vienna both in architecture and life style. Again photographs were taken and this time it was the context of New York which imprinted itself on the already existing picture within the picture.
